Sweating more doesn't mean you're burning more calories. Sweat doesn't contain calories.

Raises body temp, increases HR, therefore burn more because exercise now more difficult.

No.

This has to be an April Fool's joke comment and question. There cannot be grown adults that are this stupid.

But I bet they also believe that running a mile and walking a mile burns the same amount of calories.

It was paid for by Kutting Weight, a neoprene 'sauna suit' manufacturer. Try reading the entire paper first.

Water loss is weight loss. It may not be fat loss or muscle loss, but it is weight loss.

What are the effects of a sauna? Does it burn more calories?

I definitely struggle more with fueling during endurance events in the heat, and not just hydration. But that’s not really the topic under discussion.

No exercise plan should involve elaborate environment controls other than making you comfortable if your goal is to use that for weight control and general health. Otherwise it isn’t sustainable. In other words, stop eating piles of garbage and exercise for muscle retention and the cardio vascular benefits. It’ll also encourage you to not eat garbage.

I can't believe that people still believe this nonsense 40 years after the 80s.

Think practically - why is obesity more prevalent in warm places like the south? Because people are too hot to move. They're sweating, but not moving as much. They're not burning extra calories.

Go to google - you burn more calories in cold climates because it takes more effort to increase your body temperature. And you'll also likely simply exercise harder, by not overheating.

This isn't rocket science, people. Turn the damn fans on when you workout to get a better workout, and burn more calories.

You're linking to a pay wall that is $52 for the article. Posting random abstracts is stupid.

Common sense that the more you increase heat, the higher the heart rate. Does that no happen with you?
