It is more common to go this route in college now because beer has largely disappeared on campuses. Why? It is much easier to get and hide a 2 liter vodka bottle in your dorm room than to get and hide a case or two of beer. You can mix the vodka with something from the cafeteria, and you can then carry an insulated cup through dorm halls and around campus with no problem. You can’t do that with a beer can or bottle. Obviously you can pour a beer into the same cup, but first you have to have the beer and second it has to last. For on campus parties, beer kegs have long ago disappeared. You still see them at off campus parties. I have a kid in a frat - they use the small plastic cups for girls like you see on airplanes. They do it so there is no reason to feel bad about setting it down to dance or whatever. Just get a new one. Unattended cups get pitched.

Sounds like watered down jungle juice

It is exactly jungle juice but you get to control what goes in it. The downside is that many teens won't do a good job controlling what goes in it. I like the idea of a BORTL.

I've made jungle juice with vodka plenty of times. Everyclear isn't always available when you go to college in the middle of nowhere and every rented house and frat is buying for the same big weekend. You just add more koolaid powder to mask the taste and it's fine

Not new. And kind of ingenious, because you mix it yourself, you hold it the entire time, etc. You can just fill it entirely with Gatorade if you want, and no one can roofie you.

Basically yes they carry around a gallon water jug. I don't know if they do this for parties but they are definitely the thing to do for football games.

A borg is supposed to be a fifth of vodka in a gallon of water with flavoring and I know some of the guys actually do that. My daughter and her friends don't put in anywhere near that and they rarely finish one-she's 20 and a sophomore. They sometimes will split one between 2 girls.

My friends and I totally would have just put in juice from the dining hall and like a drop of alcohol to feel rebellious.

+1 I went to college in upstate New York and my DH went in Jersey. Everclear is illegal in both places and people went to PA to get it.
