Public schools teach sex ed. We had sessions starting in 4th grade. Then every year since. Each year would get more complex. I remember by 8th grade were discussing more complex topics.

+1. This was discussed in my elementary school in 1979! This is so messed up! What’s next? “Women’s products” will be be hidden in stores and carried out in brown paper bags? That’s how my mom grew up in the 50s because back then a biological process was considered shameful. Is that what we want to return to?

So what? What’s your point?

The bill does NOT ban girls from talking about periods.

It bans teachers or schools - from providing sex ed material to students before 6th grade.

If you have a period and are ovulating you can get pregnant and plenty of girls are getting their periods before 6th grade- sixth grade is too late.

It wasn’t an article. It was a video and the man who wrote the bill said yes it would prevent girls from talking about menstruation in school.

The fking irony

Because I don’t think the men who wrote this bill actually knew girls as young as 8 can start their period. I’m just so sad and dumbfounded that this is where we are. WTAF?!

Why would anyone want to ban that? Learning about biology is important. Kids need to be aware of what is happening with their bodies. They nave a right to know!

They will have "period" trailers. Let's not contaminate those innocent little boys!

“How can they learn if a girl is having her period next to him? She is unclean!”

Because kids who don’t know get pregnant sooner. Getting pregnant when abortion isn’t legal allows forced birth and more kids praising Jesus or allows the GOP to keep women pregnant and uneducated.

Especially since so many places have only abstinence only sex ed, i.e., here’s how to get STIs and get pregnant because you’re told it’s all equally bad.

Can you imagine this being banned? So effed up.

We? No. The GOP? Yes. To them that's when America was "Great."

Men: girls (and I’m sure grown women at some point) aren’t allowed to talk about their disgusting bodies in public.

Meanwhile they just don’t ever shut TF up about their dicks.

Let’s make it an apt red tent. That’s what DeSantis wants, fascist pervert that he is.

When I was at Penn. Fraternity houses had to have a red light when females were there. I was there a while ago so maybe this has changed.

Young girls will have special clothes adorned with a scarlet letter "M".
