| These are some really weird answers. |
The architecture is a big part of it for me. |
|
East Coast: Naval Academy
Mid West: Indiana West: Pepperdine, ocean views in Malibu |
I drove through the campus as an 18 yr old the summer before college. Gorgeous! I ordered a catalog and wanted to transfer there but we didn’t have the money. |
It’s often described as the “Ivyest of the Ivies,” which is to say that it conforms most closely to the popular image of what people who’ve never visited an Ivy League school think an Ivy League university would look like. Mid-sized campus with lots of older buildings and a heavy commitment to building in the Collegiate Gothic style in the late 19th and early 20th Century. And the newer architecture is modern (mostly) but not as brutal as at some schools. Right outside the campus is the town of Princeton, which is also tony and historic. Some people think it’s too sleepy/cloistered but it is a beautiful setting. |
UMD-College Park? You need to travel more. A lot more. |
| You’re gonna have a lot of trouble coming up with a more beautiful campus than Notre Dame. |

I hear it’s pretty. Never had reason to visit. |
I should add Salve Regina for the East Coast. Right on the water in a resort town (Newport, RI) with numerous 19th century mansions on the campus. |
| James Madison University |
Salve and Wellesley, for certain. |
