Multiple mentions for Princeton on the east coast. What is it exactly about Princeton's campus that makes it beautiful? The 18th century architecture? Genuinely curious as I've never visited.
It’s often described as the “Ivyest of the Ivies,” which is to say that it conforms most closely to the popular image of what people who’ve never visited an Ivy League school think an Ivy League university would look like. Mid-sized campus with lots of older buildings and a heavy commitment to building in the Collegiate Gothic style in the late 19th and early 20th Century. And the newer architecture is modern (mostly) but not as brutal as at some schools. Right outside the campus is the town of Princeton, which is also tony and historic. Some people think it’s too sleepy/cloistered but it is a beautiful setting.
