Oh barf. It’s just a lawyer in the military. They are military which means they follow orders. So whether he approved or didn’t approve of the Guantanamo actions, if you actually know JAG, you’d understand that they don’t get to pick and choose which military issues they litigate. It’s a like a public defender. Do you think they all actually approve of the activities of the murderers and rapists they defend? No. It’s a job. The marks of excellence are his acceptance to Harvard which over on the college board you are probably gushing about and praying your kid can go. Harvard is always such a mark of excellence except when DeSantis and Cruz have it on their resumes. Then it is shunted aside. Meanwhile Biden actually committed perjury in law school…

Oh no. Read the Harpers piece. He didn't just oversee Gitmo, he was personally involved in the worst torture there. That's not "following orders". It's just despicable.

This doesn’t make sense. He was there as a military official carrying out orders of his superiors. That is a fact. Random military cannot just walk in and torture prisoners. I do not question his personal involvement. A commander of a ship is personally involved in that ship but he is still required to follow orders. You have clearly never participated in a military organization. For crying out loud, shooting people or blowing up buildings in a tank is personal involvement but also following orders. Just stop.

Fully confident that DeSantis will handle Biden in a devastating and yet completely respectful way. He will let Biden make a fool of himself and just remained poised as it happens. Cannot wait.

DeSantis will first have to "handle" Trump before he can "handle" Biden. Don't be so sure that Trump won't prevail.

Yeah thanks. Voted for trump twice. He is done. He is a net negative now. He needs to go away and most of us feel that way.

Since you seem so sure that most Republicans agree with you about Trump, can you explain why the Republican establishment as a whole--not just a handful of people--won't disavow Trump?

It isn’t necessary to have a war with trump. He still motivates a lot of people.

It's like Tucker.....“I hate him passionately … What he’s good at is destroying things. He’s the undisputed world champion of that.

Now he privately says that about trump but too bad. Trump motivates people and generates the cash so oh well.

Participating in torture is not akin to shooting people or blowing up a building in a tank.

I get that Trump motivates people so they don't want to cut him loose, but Trump also has the ability to inflict serious damage on DeSantis and whomever else he tussles with during the primaries. And if he doesn't prevail in the primaries, he will spend his time attacking the GOP establishment and their anointed candidate. He will keep communicating with and riling up his base (the folks who are in his cult of personality) and will draw votes away from the GOP candidate. He will not fall in line and support the GOP candidate who will go up against Biden. So as much as you'd like to dismiss Trump, he is not going away. He will burn it all down if he has to.

I don’t dismiss him. Your analysis of him is spot on. As I said, he has become a net negative. He is a take no prisoners kind of guy and he will absolutely lash out at anyone and everyone that challenges him whether it’s good for the Republican Party or the country or not. And republicans know it! He is definitely the old guy who yells outrageous stuff all the time and so he is going to end up ignored. Yes some people still want him but they want to win more than they want him. He wants him to be president more than he wants a republican to be president. He feels like he got a raw deal and frankly I think he did with Russia collusion hoax and COVID happening. But that’s the way it went and now he is a has been. He doesn’t know it but he is. But like Barack, and Bill Clinton, he fires people up. So he is going to be a helpful motivating tool and then once DeSantis declares in May, he will just rail agains DeSantis and I suspect DeSantis will do what he does which is to obliquely reference trump but not fire back until the debates. And then I think DeSantis will just rise above as the most poised, intelligent, forward looking, hopeful, candidate.

Don’t care. No one trusts the media anymore. Media has lost its power.

Ok. Fox knows how to cash in. If desantis is their golden ticket than I guess that is that. All fox cares about is the $$$$$ obviously. If they trump or desantis or someone else gets them the viewers, that is the way they will go.
