This is the most impressive early win. If LB can play together as a team they have the most talent and would be the favorite. |
Langley was up 5-1 in the second quarter and it had potential to be a blowout. But Oakton got a couple of late second quarter goals to make it 5-3 a halftime, and then dominated the second half. It looked like Oakton had it under control, but Langley scored with less than a minute to tie, and again in OT. Both goalies played great. |
Agreed. When LB is firing on all cylinders they are the team to beat. They should start 5-0. Matchup with Madison on 4/3 is their first real test. |
Impressive? Against Centreville? |
| They were always going to beat Centreville. 13-0 shutout win is impressive. |
| I disagree. Beating a top 5 school is impressive. Beating a team that you're going to beat by double digits anyway doesn't say much. I'm eager to see what WestPo does. They don't have their all-around fantastic Maryland recruit anymore, but I bet they play a closer game than most expect. |
| OP for this had Centerville top 10 |
To clarify, what WestPo does vs. Lake Braddock. |
| Did anyone see Madison vs Robinson? Looks like it was a good game from the score |
Also disagree with this. Who thought Centreville was going to be any good at all? Top 5-6 are only real contenders and I would say it’s: 1. Madison 2. Battlefield 3. Yorktown 4. Lake Braddock 5. Robinson 6. Langley No one else will be in contention for state championship |
I missed the end but from what I saw Madison looked like the stronger team skill-wise by a pretty significant margin. I think they were up 4-1 after 1Q and 7-2 at half. Robinson's D looked good but the offense doesn't move the ball like Madison. |
Weird, I only saw the second half but Robinson looked like the stronger team skill wise by a very significant margin in that half. I think they won the third 3-1 and won the fourth 2-1. Madison’s offense wasn’t moving the back of the net much when robinson changed goalies the second half 😳 |
| Madison had the game in control but too many penalties and turnovers gave Robo a chance to come back. Clutch goaltending and D at the end and a tenacious FO unit got them through. |
| Surprised by how easily St. Alban’s handled Riverside. |
Doesn’t bode well for Robinson against Prep. |
