There’s in fact no issue thought, right?
If you’re a new family, no precedent. If you’re an old family, you are free to ask for a refund. You fit into my little narrative perfectly. Central casting. |
If you are coming back, won't a larger deposit just mean you pay less later when tuition is due? There was a snafu at another school where the tuition on the contracts didn't match the one reported by the board. School never reached out to anyone. This happens. |
The strategy i might be to use that extra money to invest or gain off the interest. If there are 1000 people i’m at school for sake of argument you have 5 mil to utilize early. |
I don't think any school gives back a deposit if you change your mind by June 1. They keep the deposit....June 1 is the date at which you can be lot off the hook of the Full Tuition in the contract. |
Again, the issue is implementation and communication. Not my personal finances. Is your narrative that a majority of families at the school are well aware of how poorly the school is run? Including many trustees among them? If so, I suppose I fit in. How do you fit in? How would you describe your engagement with the school? How supportive of the school are you financially? |
my point is that they do not have an issue with people backing out, this is one of the finest schools in the world. There had to be another reason. It is a lot for a deposit and wow if you have several kids at school would be hard for most people. Still think it is a great school and I am sure they will figure it all out. |
I'm guessing they'd like to get more money up front and get interest to help support work on the new building. As per communication - I'm not the PP's that seem very upset - but it's no secret that the school is atrocious at communication. And (in HS anyway) they are similarly deficient in respectful treatment of parents or getting any feedback. It's just the way it is - I don't see it changing anytime soon. |
Roll my eyes for the millionth time. You’re either a troll or a massive malcontent or a Sidwell obsessive. There’s no issue at all. Communications are great and would be better if y’all didn’t feel the need to doggy style digest then and then puke them up in your own interpretation, and then lick your own sick back up for 15 pages at a time every 2 weeks or so.
Sick puppies! |
I’ve never ever felt or seen not has anyone observed a lack of respect towards the US parents. Unless, is it you?
Honestly, I thought there was just one family deluded enough but now I do wonder 😂 |
I think it’s a perfectly reasonable request in an inflationary economy. It was implemented by a 3rd party before it was communicated, and the school apologized and refunded to the complainers.
I too would have refunded but wouldn’t have apologized. I’d have simply cited the facts. There’s nothing to apologize for, but it must be a miserable life to live at odds with your child’s school. |
The complainers get to pay the same $ in what a few weeks?!
Gimme a break, Chicken Little. |
I see that the students have entered the chat, having some fun trolling the parents! ![]() |
Stop donating if you are that unhappy. Find a school that works better for you. |
Nah, just trolling the one major donor and trustee who asked to speak to the manager |
It is so strange that you think it works like this. Either "find a new school" or shut up and be happy? Stop donating why? I like the school and I also encourage them to do and be better. Which they know and admit that they can. You must lead a very sad, mouse-like existence. Sorry for you. |
