Sidwell re-enrollment deposit snafu!

To anyone in doubt as to the OP’s intent, please re read the original message. No content at all, pure insinuation and attack on the HoS.

I think it’s important to call this behavior out so we can have proper discussions

Oh, a pedant? No pedantry when OP starts a thread with a bunch of innuendo.

Here it is:
OP reported a bunch of posts to the moderator requesting deletion (as a consequence a bunch of posts were deleted) a😂

So basically the gif is correct, OP got an apology and a full refund but still insisted on speaking to the manager (and flipping the table)

Every action… equal and opposite reaction

Nothing has stooped anywhere as low as the original post

I don’t get it. My children are at the cathedral schools and we always had to pay a deposit with the contract. It just carries over every year. I think deposits are the norm? I think for financial aid families they do it based on the amount of aid you get it but I’m not sure but paying a deposit seems pretty normal to me.

No one gets it. There’s nothing that will ever make this group happy. They live for the next manufactured outrage.

While simultaneously wondering why anyone would choose “inferior” privates over them.

I swear, the big 3 parents are such a turnoff and constant whiners.

Well to be honest, the school does just fine even with an odd duck parent here and there. It’s still pretty awesome 🤩

Only a few? What's the problem?

New poster to this thread. Changing the enrollment deposit from $1,000 to more than $5,000 and not communicating that change to parents is unquestionably a big deal. And designing a communications plan and failing to implement it is hard to explain, other than demonstrating that the school’s admin is just so incompetent.

I knew you couldn’t help yourself! You got an apology and a refund. What more do you want and how is the dcum a place to get it?

Strange response. New poster to this thread, as I said. There is nothing wrong with wanting the school to be better administratively and to discussing issues on a public forum. That does not mean I have not also discussed my views with leaders at the school directly. I am also a major donor to the school and am not a member of any little clique. Sorry that I don’t fit into your narrative. There are many others like me as well.

Why would you do this? Were a lot of people paying the deposit and ultimately going elsewhere? Seems unlikely.

If you are a major donor by Sidwell standards then a $5,0000 deposit is chump change right? If it was only $1000 before that seems very low compared to other schools. And don't you get it back if you change your mind before June 1?

PP you are responding to here. The issue is the school’s administrative competence (or incompetence), in rolling out a change that impacts all families. The issue is not my personal finances or self-interest. On your last question, enrollment deposits are not refundable.
