Carmel IN looks amazing, great schools, good people safe, etc

I have a lot of family in Carmel, Fishers, and Indianapolis. Couldn’t pay me to live there, but to each their own!

There is 3% poverty in Carmel. Pretty easy for a town to look nice when all of the affluent people move to the same area. But if people here are advocating for policies to eliminate poverty, I’m listening.

It’s a great place to live. DMV and the elitist coast do not have a monopoly on quality of life and good schools. It’s also way more affordable to live out there.

I'm surprised no one mentioned Mike Pence lives in Carmel. He bought a mansion there -- for $1.9mln.

Yes, Carmel is heavily white but so is Indiana -- 84.2% white based on the latest census. Oregon is more white at 86.2% if you want to point to a Democrat-controlled state that's also white.

It's a wealthy suburb of Indianapolis. It's kind of boring (I've been there), but aren't most suburbs?

POC here. Lived there as a kid. Literally one of the most overtly racist places I’ve ever experienced. Our family was repeatedly called racial slurs, told “to go back where we came from.” Not exaggerating one bit. My parents called it “The Mississippi of the Midwest.”
