Yes, the point being if you like a DC summer heat-wise (though less humid) then go to Slovakia/Serbia, if you prefer a New England summer go to Germany/Poland.

I dont know when you are going but in August Serbians usually leave Serbia and go to the beach--so Belgrade will not be as crowded. personally if you are interested in Belgrade best time would be to be there for New Years Eve and then stay for Christmas 1/7--the city is really all decked out and alot of fun.

What an absurd and ridiculous comment. Poland is an incredibly rich country and the hidden gem of Europe. Serbia and Slovakia are also well deserving of a visit. Living in Europe, I pass reminders of the Holocaust on a daily basis. Huge Jewish cemeteries in towns where there are no longer any Jewish residents. In one Jewish cemetery I visited this week, there was an urn containing soap made from human fat at a German death camp. As someone with family murdered by the Germans, I never forget. So why don’t you tell me more about this wonderful German “culture and history.”

I am sorry about the tragedy that happened but Germany is much more than the Holocaust

You can claim this but absolutely not true, Serbians are not pro Putin, I mean a very small minority--probably the same as the percentage of Americans who are...quite frankly there are so many expats( mostly W.Europeans-as they cant afford living as nicely in their countries) living in Serbia due to the beauty of the nature, the open mentality of the Serbians and the NON judgmental nature of the Serbians that real estate has gone up...my family is there and there are more Ukrainians than Russians who came during the war. And BTW the Ukrainians and Russians there get along because only in DCUM minds is there this huge nationalism gripping Slavs minds and souls....but in general you don't want to be in South Eastern Europe as it is as hot as DC is in the summer-though less humid. I would rather go to Croatia or Slovenia in the summer.

As someone who grew up in the Balkans I completely disagree. They are and always have been very pro Putin. What world do you live in? There are nice people in Serbia of course. But as a matter of National policy they are one of the only European countries openly pro Putin. It wouldn’t prevent me from going, but it’s silly to state that nationalism is not a big issue there. It has been for centires.

I dont know what circles you are in, but no one I know is this way...I guess it depends if you live in the Redneck part of the Balkans or moderate part.

You really aren’t very informed. Just look at Vujcic’s policies. I don’t want to detail this thread, but what you are disputing is on full display. And I’m from a major city not the redneck part as you point out.
