Agree. They can require pre-camp testing if they want. Less invasive and reasonable. Requiring boosters is completely unacceptable with the data that we have. |
Because they run a summer camp and Science education here in the US is pretty bad. Most people don't understand Science and how all this works. Heck, our public health 'experts' really screwed this all up. There should be solid guidance from the CDC on what to do about this with respect to boosters in kids for camps/schools. Unfortunately our federal government continues to fail our kids. The CDC should come out strongly against booster mandates in anyone under the age of 40. Why has that not happened? |
You're the a$$ without data. I'm still waiting to be given the risk/benefit data on additional shots for kids with 2-3 shots plus covid. |
Totally agree. |

Nutjob site. Here's the actual study: https://www.medrxiv.org/content/10.1101/2022.12.17.22283625v1.full And an article with some accompanying statements: https://thecourier.com/news/436135/covid-vaccine-study-raises-questions-about-boosters/ There's apparently some kind of confounding factor involved in "who gets vaccinated more frequently" and "who gets infected more". We're talking about a population of health care workers, so one likely hypothesis is that the workers who are getting boosted more often are the ones who face a high danger of daily exposure (i.e. ER workers, respiratory therapists, etc.), and so they're getting COVID more often despite routinely getting their vaccination updated. |
Your camp requirement, considering the risk of the shot, is absolutely insane. Do your own research which includes opposing opinions. Why wouldn’t you? |
|
Camps are requiring COVID bivalent boosters for children when hospitals don't even require it for healthcare workers.
|
| OP - our camp just changed their bivalent booster policy to only strongly recommends! |
| How comfortable are you with your kid getting Covid at camp? Start there. |
that’s great!!! |
But remember the booster only really prevents infection for a couple of months. |
Getting a booster does not make it less likely that your kid catches Covid. We have stats to back that up. |
So glad to hear that. Any booster vaccine requirement for KIDS is complete unethical based on the data we have. |
