Yes DD got accepted in AET and waitlisted for AOS. She is hoping that TJ would also announce before March 19th in order to make a final decision.

DD got into AET. TJ results don't come in until April end latest. I think DD will accept AET for now.

So if DD accepts AET offer for now but later on gets offer from TJ and decides to go to TJ and accepts it then would she automatically be removed from AET portal or we need to convey decision to ACL so they can offer to the next one on waitlist?
That she has already accepted AET for now should not affect offer chances from TJ right? She’s worried if TJ would remove her and also other kids who accepted ACL offers from consideration for TJ offer. I do not think that should be the case as both are separate schools and county systems and the kid has the freedom to decline an already accepted offer from AET and accept the one from TJ if they choose so.
Unless TJ also announces decision this week or next week, which ideally they should...

There are over 1k now. I've never seen it close to this high.

If the student accepts TJ, then they are automatically unenrolled from LCPS.
I heard of a student who was taken off the waitlist the same day as TJ announced admissions.
TJ admissions will not be affected by whether a student has accepted or declined AOS/AET.
The only issue would be what might have happened to someone last year-

AOS accepts student,
student accepted admission to AOS,
TJ accepted student,
student accepted admission to TJ,
Student removed from AOS admissions, this spot given to someone on waitlist from same school
TJ demands proof of FARMS,
student removed from TJ and no longer has a spot at AOS.

Yes above makes sense.

As an FYI the admissions email system is being weird I am an 8 grader who withdrew their applications in December due to having to drop Algebra 1 and go back to Pre-Algebra I dropped the applications on December 9th yet Yesterday I still received a rejection letter that was titled as a a waitlist letter I had to drop my applications for a 2nd time this morning and I the admissions office saying that I had dropped my applications in December I was confused why I had gotten a admissions letter and they said it was a glitch.

AOS Freshman Maths is nowhere near easy and its a lot of homework.

Just so you know according to the LCPS 2023-2024 program of studies the 9th grade math at Academics of Loudoun for students that are taking Algebra I as an 8th grader is Honors Geometry it is new 2023-2024 thing.

DS is waitlisted for both AOS and AET. Quick question- suppose he receives offer from AOS and accepts it, will they still keep him on waitlist for AET? In case he decides to go for AET later if the spot becomes available, would he be able to do so?

Wondering how they will implement this as AOS/AET use a cohort model with everyone taking the same classes.
There aren't that many students taking algebra in 8th grade at academies of loudoun, at least compared to TJ.

AET Honors Geometry
Course Code TBD
Grade(s): 8-9
1 Credit
Prerequisite: None
AET Honors Geometry is an alternative to Geometry for highly motivated mathematics students. The greater depth, breadth and rigor of the course is intended to prepare students for success in advanced mathematics courses. The course covers the studey of plane, solid, and coordinate geometric concepts. Investigations of lines, planes, congruence, similarity, areas, volumes, circles, and three-dimensional shapes are incorporated to provide a complete course of study. Formal and informal deductive reasoning skills are developed and applied to the construction of formal proofs. And emphasis on reasoning, problem solving, and proof is embedded in the course and includes two-column proofs, paragraph proofs, and coordinate proofs. Computers and graphing calculator technologies are incorporated into the curriculum to allow students opportunities to explore concepts, engage in inquiry-based learning, provide visual models to support the learning of geometric concepts, and as powerful tools for solving and verifying solutions to equations and inequalities. Mathematical communication and reasoning are emphasized throughout the course.
Ripped with from the Program of Studies the other Math option is AP integrated math.

I don't know why they call it AP, as there is not AP exam for 'Integrated Math 1'.
Currently no one takes geometry at AET/AOS. They all take Integrated Math 1, and you have the same group of kids in every class.
Are they now going to pull out some kids from each group to take geometry classes?
And then what will they take the next year?
Given how much time they put in, the geometry class could easily do a lot of what is in integrated math 1, but they will still be behind the 2nd year.

From what I've seen, it is pretty easy, and a lot of the homework is done in class.
There are new topics, but a lot of it has already been covered by many of the kids, who would be getting more math at their base high school.
I think it depends on how much trigonometry was covered in a kid's geometry class the year prior. Some of them have already taken algebra 2.
