Who wants to vote her out? They might replace her with someone effective. Besides, it’s too much. |
I understand, as one of her supporters you probably require a lot of handholding and explanation, but you’ve implied some FOP conspiracy to get her out of office, when that’s completely ridiculous. Anything else you are suspicious of? Germ theory? Birds being real? |
Lol My mistake they are doing us a public service by letting the media know a Councilmember called someone to let them know her car was blocking the road. Thanks FOP for bringing this important issue to light. |
Very few people in Mink's district for sure. You are all fooling yourselves in thinking this "scandal" means anything at all. |
not in moco they don’t. Maybe for a friend or something, but if you call moco police with a flat tire they will call u a tow. |
It just shows what kind of person she is, that’s all, which is amusing. A lot people roll their eyes at the mention of her name because they get it, and now we have something new to laugh at, but it doesn’t really matter in the scheme of things. I doubt that the grown ups in MoCo will let her do too much. She did volunteer to talk to the ethics board. I hope that it’s live streamed! |
And they didn't change Mink's tire either. But let's argue pointlessly about this for some more time. |
Again- pretend it was anyone other than the most left member of the county council here. Literally any other elected official. Take the cheerleader hat off, and use your eyes. |
It has to be a member of her team or her family writing these minimizing replies. Only they could pretend to be so obtuse as to not see the issue here or the irony of the situation. It’s very amusing. No one is asking that she be charged with a crime. I even agree with a lot of her political views, but wow. |
DP. She’s been in office 2 months. It’s wildly premature to say that she’s ineffective. |
Nope. I actually think as far as Mink's behavior goes it's not s good look that she thought calling the District Commander was the right way to go. She is a county leader and doesn't have a good understanding of how police and first responders work. I also think, as someone supportive of police reform, that it is important to be gracious towards first responders even when the FOP is being ...the FOP, and her Twitter post doesn't show any graciousness towards the people that helped her. But the specific criticisms of her being laid out in this thread strike me as pretty ridiculous. If the only way your brain can process that is to assume I'm a member of her team, so be it, in that case, y'all are a bunch of FOP members trying to discredit someone who wants to reduce your department's budget. |
This discussion has been about her character. Her policies are a whole other subject. If you are comfortable with her, then more power to you. Good luck with that. |
DP here. While this isn’t a “scandal,” it does confirm my concerns about Mink: I question her judgment. This is a terribly bad look for her. She has been very vocal recently about MCPD. To use them in this capacity after calling for less police presence in the county? It’s seriously hypocritical. I’m not impressed at all. And no, I have no connection to the FOP. |
The FOP sucks as well. But to be fair, she completely and irrationally maligned the department just a few days ago saying they were like Memphis. Unaware, likely, that they are CALEA accredited (Memphis is not), have undergone additional reform efforts (Memphis has not), has appropriate supervision (Memphis does not), and is subject to random BWC footage reviews (Memphis is not). A good new councilmember would recognize her ignorance and get up to speed before slamming the department. And it’s even worse because she is on the Public Safety Committee. She needs to step back from her activist role and step into a legislator’s role. |
I have seen it twice this past year (2022). If I see it that often, and I’m barely out, it’s happening on a regular basis. |
