She ended up at her top choice which was Holton, and really loves it. So it definitely worked out well. My only point is that there are no true “signs” unless you are a recruit or a VIP kid. |
I don't understand how this would put you on edge. Why would they say the kid would be a nice fit if they expected to reject you? |
Children may be a great fit but still not get in because there may be too many applicants for too few spots. |
From who? Who gave you this vibe? |
Do all/most other schools send acceptance and waitlist only and NO rejections? |
Incredible. So in essence you were being told Sidwell would offer a spot if your child would accept and let them know in advance? |
Yes that was my understanding, and when I said GDS was her first choice the HOS said that she might want to rethink her order. She was happy at Holton. She probably would have been just as happy at Sidwell. I don't think she would have been happy at GDS. |
Yes, his has happened to us. With the first child it was a tad alarming, but by the third kid we really enjoyed the candles, the chants, etc. |
I think plenty of schools have true rejections. My kid was rejected at Bullis for middle. |
What about that raven though? That was a little unnerving. |
Schools haven’t even decided who they’re making offers to yet. They might love your child. When the admissions committee sits down to review applicants, they realize they love 8 white females who live in NWDC and attended x school/preschool and they only have room for 4 applicants who fit this profile. |
wait, Bullis rejects kids? |
omg, you got the raven??? I thought that was a myth. |
Do you schedule a school tour-visit while you wait? |
I would love to know which school this is. I am guessing STA or NCS? It’s not Sidwell or GDS. |
