Sign of acceptance?

Do you think all of the decisions have already been made? Or are the admission committees bring midnight oil this week? Are there still some maybes??

Other than getting emails from two schools saying to be on the look out for a email on Friday. I assume everyone gets those but who knows.

Those general "be on the lookout on Friday" emails are funny to me. As if we haven't been eagerly awaiting this Friday for months now!

Received a nice, direct but general email from admissions office.

Is it true that some schools send out swag earlier in the day on Friday?

That hasn’t been our experience. Did get swag once we went to welcome events and once accepted school and sent in deposit.

I know, right? I got a little excited but it is false hope. I mean why send it knowing we ALL know the date. Makes it sound like my kid is special. HA

Madeira sent a welcome packet with some swag in a shiny red envelope that arrived a couple of hours before results were released.

Last year, we didn’t get our Madeira swag until after decisions were released.

Okay, not P/K-8/12 experience but the son of DH's college roommate had applied RD to their alma mater after getting deferred at an Ivy in ED (and wasn't hopeful). The alma mater is known for preferring legacies apply ED, so school contacted son and asked, "if you were offered a slot, will you accept?" and was told "YES!"

Kid was rejected a week later.
