I echo some parents on this forum that waiting for decisions is hard. Is there any early sign that might suggest that a school is interested in a student applicant?

Go down this path and it only makes the waiting harder. |
Do you mean comments from admissions? |
In our experience with several schools, no. The only thing that happened to us was that the principal at our preschool told us that the admission director of one of the school we applied really liked our daughter during the play date (for K). She got in… I am not sure that was a sign. |
WOW! |
Nope. We got into all the schools our kid applied to and didn’t get any indications, except at one very small school, where they basically said we got in after our visit.

We were told by the AD at a Big 3 that our daughter was a terrific fit and she listed the reasons, actually saying that DD really needed to be at this school. DD was WL. I would read nothing into anything. |
Where did she end up? |
They're interested in all applicants until they're not. Read into nothing. |
We were told to be available and awake at precisely midnight on the 15th of February. A group of existing parents of the school showed up and entered our house, forcing us to sit in a candle-lit circle. Needless to say, the rituals were special and secret, but it was no surprise when we received the admission notification. |
The school reached out 3 times after the due date for the supplemental essay for the honors program.
My DD was accepted into the honors program with merit based scholarship. |
My son applied to high schools last year from a K-8. His middle school head told me that my son's first choice school loved him and he ended up getting accepted. |
That’s a little different because the top K-8s have the head of school present each kid to the HS admissions committees. |
This. |
What about if you were asked if offered a slot, how likely would you accept? |
