Which DC & DC Area privates truly send "rejections" alone with acceptances and waitlists instead of only sending acceptances and waitlisting everyone else??

Sidwell sends acceptance, rejection, and waitlist letters

The head of DD's school said "Sidwell wants to know where they stand with your DD." She also told us GDS did not like DD and Holton did. This was mid February.

We got a package from one K-8 the weekend before decisions came out with mugs with the school’s mascot on them filled with hot chocolate. Then, we got a rejection and a waitlist. I thought it was weird. We got into our preferred school and were happy with how things worked out but getting that package made me dislike a school I would not have minded getting a plain rejection from. It felt like being led on. I guess they don’t care if they leave a bad taste in the mouth of people they don’t accept.

No.

It’s something they are curious about. And an affirmative response like 100% —- if credible —- helps your chances.

But it’s no an indication of anything.

The schools are in the mode of collecting applications. We are weeks way from the step in the process where they start deciding who to admit.

If you need FA than you'll be WL or accepted after they get all the full pays.

Oh no. One of the schools sent DC a note after the interview saying DC seemed like a good fit for the school and that a teacher from shadow day said great things about DC. Now I man kind of bummed that it might not have meant anything.
