Go watch the intro song from season 1. I don't know if they changed it after season 1 and it's too late for me to look it up. There's a shot of the Dancing Nataraja alongside vampires, ghouls, and all the monstrous beings that are being paraded through that opening song as Buffy's enemies. And in either the pilot episode or the 2nd episode, Buffy is gifted with a crucifix necklace to protect her from the vampires. That confirmed to me that placing Nataraja in that line up was no accident. |
I remember SMG from way back, when she was Susan Lucci’s daughter, I think?, on All My Children and some teen soap opera as well, the name escapes me now. Anyone else remember that?
Glad to see she has a good marriage. Freddie Prinze Jr was a big deal back in the day as well. Good for them. |
Aren’t you precious. |
We can watch/not watch things without it meaning anything significant. I haven’t seen those two movies. It’s not a big deal. |
DP. The crucifix? That's pretty standard vampire mythology. What did you mean? |
And yet you felt the need to come into this thread to make sure a bunch of internet randos knew how above it all you are. If you really wanted to know who Freddie Prince Jr is, you could have googled and gotten the answer faster/easier than posting the question here. |
Don’t forget Summer Catch! |
Not pp and not of Hindu heritage, but rewatched Buffy early in the pandemic. There was never a Lord Shiva plot point. I can't picture what you're talking about. |
Yes -- she was the original Kendall, Erica Kane's (Susan Lucci's) bad girl daughter given up at birth, and forgotten about by Erica due to trauma until she reappears as a teenager (played by SMG until she quit to do Buffy and was replaced by a new actress who successfully played the role until AMC was cancelled). |
God forbid we use an Internet forum to communicate. |
It seems to really bother you that people aren’t impressed by your taste in movies. |
Can't stand people like this. I'm a Jain follower, but even I could recall seeing what PP was talking about, and it took me 5 seconds to find the video on YouTube and verify what he/she was talking about. You're like the Indian equivalent of Black person who thinks BLM is an overreaction. |
I mean her Instagram feed is loaded with pictures of herself wearing different outfits on vacation, and photos with other famous people. She actually does seem like she's kind of desperately seeking attention? Not being critical but it's not like she's leading this incredibly private life and just being forced into PR for her show. She's not a Kardashian but she seems pretty typical of a semi-washed up former TV star looking for a second act. Nothing about her really jumps out as being impressive. She's an okay actress. I do not get why people seem so invested. |
DP, I think this is probably an accurate assessment, unfortunately. You don't come across as a "hater". I mean, I agree with you, but I don't hate Sarah or Freddie. I think the bar has been set so low for celebrity behavior that we're sort of grasping as the mediocre-ly good people like thirsty people in a desert. I admit that is one reason why I'm happy that the Prinze marriage has lasted, and they haven't been involved in scandals and such. But they also don't seem like role models...just Basics trying to get ahead in the industry, without much of interest to say. |
Couldn't that just be seen as being "normal"? what is your personal instagram (if you have it) filled with? Mine is of outfits, friends, vacations, pets, etc. Seems pretty similar although I don't have famous friends (or kids) and she does. |
