They just make me happy. They went from teen heartthrobs to level-headed, steadily married couple for 20+ years. They completely conquered celebrity narcissism, when they easily could've gone off the rails. They stay out of the limelight, but still work in the entertainment industry. In their recent (and rare) red carpet appearance to promote Sarah's new show, they look so chill. They dress for the red carpet how they want to, not with try-hard couture. They've aged without anxiety and haven't tried to reverse or halt the aging process.
And while Sarah Michelle Gellar was silent for the sake of her own mental health about what she had to deal with on Buffy from Joss Whedon (while supporting other actors who spoke out), Freddie was a protective husband and spoke up about the way Whedon worked his wife brutal hours and didn't compensate her fairly. These two have handled their blessings so well and I just want to share that this makes me happy. |
Oh my goodness, I got nervous when I saw your thread title. I guess I am invested in their relationship, too! |
+1! |
And they won't let their daughter act until after she graduates from high school. |
OP here - they will NEVER divorce on my watch, ladies! |
I love hearing stories like this. |
Okay, so let's stop talking about them. The less attention on their marriage, the better chances it has of lasting forever. I'm superstitious like that. |

+2. I was a little worried when I saw your title. Good for them - also though Freddie was such a cutie in his 90's heyday. Happy to see they are doing so well in life. |
+1 more! |
I absolutely love them. |
Not to hijack the thread, but I feel the same way about SJP and Matthew Broderick, as a GenXer. I am rooting for them. |
Whew. Happy they are still good. I got nervous too! |
+ Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick |
I like them and agree with most of what you said, OP, but I just looked at those red carpet photos and SMG has most definitely had work done on her face, so not sure about the aging gracefully part. |
