No gun owner is going to buy the 'I didn't know it was loaded' excuse. |

There were continued problems on this set regarding weapons.

Yes they will. Responsible training classes are in a classroom. All guns are not loaded, and ammo is not allowed in the room. If somebody loaded the gun while a trainee was not looking and the trainee shot it, the person who brought ammo into the room and loaded it would be responsible for reckless endangerment not the person shooting the gun. |
|
I think the person/people at fault are more likely the ones who were in charge of the guns/people who brought live ammo on the set.
i don't think an actor is responsible for making sure the bullets are not live bullets. |
I do think he is guilty of manslaughter because he created an unsafe work environment. He is not guilty of manslaughter for pulling the trigger. |
+1. I don't like Baldwin but he clearly was not at fault. He was clearly told that it was a cold gun. He had no reason to believe otherwise. They're just going after a big fish, as PP says, to get press. |
Go looks at the John Landis case. 6 people were injured and 3 people (2 kids and Vic Morrow) died under his direction and negligence in bringing in a low flying helicopter that was bound to crash. Walked away from all criminal charges. |
Baldwin wasn’t the main funder. He was not in charge of on set safety. That was not his job. |
The gun had already gone off spontaneously a couple days earlier. It's possible that it did go off on its own - even though that's supposed to be impossible. |
If I hand you a gun and say it's not loaded, would you put it to your own head, or would you verify first? the person that fired the gun is always the one responsible. |
| Ridiculous. He didn't even load that gun that day. |
If it’s a prop gun I probably wouldn’t check. A real gun is another story. |
Well this was not a prop gun |
| We’ve all seen battle scenes where dozens/hundreds of guns are going off. How could it be a felony by the actors/extras if the armorers mistakingly loaded live ammo into one/some/all of those guns? It’s like charging for a felony for killing someone with a prop car that had its brake lines cut. |
Yes, this was a prop gun. |
