Haidt turns 60 this year |
So born in 1963...cusp boomer but definitely a boomer. |
Absolutely agree! Native-born older white males are the biggest snowflakes in the US. They completely fall apart when they have to compete for anything just like the rest of us (non older white men). They’re a generation of whiners. |
There are plenty of jobs for the taking. Maybe they are lazy or too picky. |
To reiterate-this is some pouty Boomer who prob has useless Millenial kids. Those generations are the whiniest babies around.
Gen X and Gen Z are doing just fine. |
Yeah the trigger warnings were a younger millennial cause and Haidt went total straw man with it. Yes some kids thought that professors should warn students if a novel deals with moving homes or family conflict, but the vast majority of elder millennials thought that was absurd and had much more reasonable options on trigger warnings. I'm sure your parent has horror stories but for every millennial who thought admin should force professors to put a detailed trigger warning on everything, there were a thousand of us who thought that managing trauma wasn't the job of a professor. I think it's just absurdly insulting and needlessly contentious to call an entire generation coddled. And now he's going after Gen Z? Haidt is right about a lot of things, but there are plenty of people out there who have better ideas. |
They are certainly the loudest. |
Right. So he’s not raising Gen Z kids. Gen X and Millennials are. |
Let's be real. This guy probably did not raise his own kids. |
I am a boomer, and I hate these generational pronouncements. People are different and should not be defined by their ages and stupid generalizations. |
Actually he is. I read one of his books and he describes an experience surrounding one of his sons starting preschool in 2009, if I recall correctly. |
That was my point. |
Boomers are 65+ years old. Gen Z is in their teens and 20’s. Do you actually believe boomers birthed Gen Z when they were 50 years old? |
Exactly. An au pair or nanny did. |
Evidence? |
