What a bunch of nonsense. If you’re not pro choice, you are not going to be the president.

+1 but it also shows how Republicans are so not used to regular media asking them questions anymore. This is the number one issue in the country now, especially this week with Florida’s ban and the mifepristone rulings. And this is the answer that he clearly practiced, because he’s given it twice? This word salad?

The GOP dog finally caught the car and they have no idea what to do with it. I mean, they never did, but now they are in the terrible position of having pushed the lies of the so-called "pro-life" movement for almost a generation and now they are bound to them. These people are one issue voters and they don't want compromises.

This article sums it all up pretty well:

You must be joking. The one-issue voters are Democrats, who refuse to consider any issue other than abortion.
DP

You got that right. No joke.

I consider both women's rights and healthcare AND gun regulation, thank you very much.

My one issue is whether or not the candidate is an orange clown.

This issue is clearly driving some election outcomes. The joke is that the GOP seems completely blind to this fact and is doubling down to anti choice candidates.

From Rose’s perspective, the GOP’s national policy should be a total ban with no exceptions. As for the man most responsible for the historic overturning of Roe? “I do think the biggest drag in the GOP right now is Trump,” she says, adding that Trump blaming abortion rhetoric for the Republican Party’s recent string of losses is, in her opinion, “just cynical politicking. And it’s, quite frankly, disgusting.

Ouch!

Trump is mistaken if he thinks he chart the GOP to some middle ground on abortion. Even he doesn’t have that kind of pull.

I'm the PP and I can't believe this is actually being debated, but OK. The GOP has spent a generation or more worming its way into churches on this specific issue. But behold, even the National Review accepted the Gallup numbers on this in 2020.

" The survey found that, among those who identify as “pro-life,” an impressive 30 percent would vote only for a pro-life candidate. Only 19 percent of people who identify as “pro-choice” said they would vote only for a candidate who supported legal abortion."

Good luck in losing 30% of your voters and still winning an election.

Lol. 2020? What planet you are on? Roe was overturned in 2022 and the people are steaming mad. Tim Scott and his forced birther nonsense are not winning a national election in 2024. But go ahead and run him. That is great news for the Dems.

Gee you all seem to have a lot more complaints about Democrats than one. I mean, I know you're scared what abortion will do to the GOP, but then again that anti-wokeness stuff must come from somewhere...

Scott is dumb as a brick and sanctimonious too. Like Trump, he had no prior political experience.
