Elephant leg jeans

I bought two pairs. Online. They look awful on me. I am short and stocky. Oh well.

My issue with some of the super wide legs: Some of them look TOO short and some of the washes are so light, they look worn.

Not Elephant leg. Just wide

Horrific. Wide-leg is stylish and cool looking. Baggy, elephant leg is just deliberately unflattering and goofy looking.

Can't imagine old white women walking around in JNCOS.

$1550 to look like I dug a pair of 5x too big mens' jeans out of a dumpster? No thanks.

Spot on!

These look just like the Urban Outfitters jeans that haunt all my high school photos. Somehow we got the same hobo look without paying $1,550.

I do think its hard to style them and find the right shoes.

Those aren't elephant leg jeans.

Please post some elephant leg jeans. I’m curious.

This video clip of Nicole Kidman is a great example of wearing elephant jeans because you are able to see them on somebody familiar walking moving, etc.. You will notice a difference between elephant fit and bellbottoms, or just wide legged:

I noticed Amanda Peet wears elephant leg jeans (almost exclusively) in "Fatal Attraction" (2023) and the look fantastic. She's at least mid-40s. She makes them look stylish yet age appropriate - not as flashy as some of the ones up thread (Kidman, etc.)

Saw some 25 year olds wearing this style yesterday. It made their middle look thick due to the high waist. And it made their thighs look fat.

It really depends on the particular jean. The elephant legs can be way flattering and make a waist lick small.

Funny that someone came up with "elephant leg"--maybe to avoid the 70s term "bell bottom"?

they're not bell bottoms - they're big all the way down the leg.

They are 100% the "phat pants" that we wore to raves in the 90s. Everything old is new again, my friends. Deny it all you want, but it's true.

And those “ phat pants” were the 90s version of the “ elephant jeans” I wore in the 70s as a preteen. The “wide leg” is just the next moniker.
