Elephant leg jeans

ok, I'm ready to join in this phenomenon. Where's the best place to buy a pair.

Madewell is my jean shop for every type

I was hesitant about this trend but finally got on board and now get so many compliments on these:

I do think its hard to style them and find the right shoes.

I got a pair at jcrew. Sold out now. But they are very flattering and I get tons of compliments on them (mostly from women - men are less enamored with this style, though my DH concedes they are flattering on my butt and waist). I'm wearing mine now with a black body suit from A&F.

I really appreciate that there is one person - I assume? - who keeps posting links to Norma Kamali. That is a name I haven't thought of in decades - but the garments you keep sharing are all interesting.

I didn’t realize this is what they are called but I got a pair from Madewell and wear them a lot. They are comfortable, go with lots of things and can be dressed up or down. I have gotten a lot of compliments on them as well. I believe they just call them wide leg jeans there.

I have a couple pairs of Levis wide-leg rib cage denim and this is what they look like. The make my waist look tiny and my butt look really good. I do agree with the PP that it can be hard to style shoes with them. I finally found a pair of Chelsea boots with knit insets so they can be fitted very close to my ankle that I can wear with them in the winter. Otherwise I think they look weird with flats, sneakers, or booties and most boots don't have a narrow enough ankle/shaft to provide the necessary contrast (otherwise it looks like you have elephant feet, too, and that's not cute.

I wear them with Chelsea boots (slightly lug sole) and that works well. My teen wears them with Uggs or Nike blazers and they look good on her. I’ve also worn them with sparkly heels and a silk blouse for evening (not fancy but elevated casual).

Those aren't elephant leg jeans.

I've tried a few, and they all look awful on me. (Narrow hips, short torso). I think they look great if you have the right body type, which I clearly don't.

I like how wealthy middle-aged women have rebranded phat pants as "elephant leg jeans", LOL!

Weren't you guys wearing these to raves 20+ years ago with me?
