Does anyone else have a snobby family member?

PP and sometimes the opposite happens; relatives downgrade from their class of origin and this causes problems.

Same here. We are clearly more successful in every way (money, house, job title, sports, kids’ accomplishments). However, my MIL talks nonstop about how proud she is of the siblings’ success and never want to hear how we’re doing.

Sounds like you are not the golden child. My mother does this to triangulate and create jealousy between siblings, so I yawn in her face or ignore it.
