Why do I find it annoying when childfree people say they are tired?

People here are miserable, OP, so you can expect zero compassion for anything, ever.

My children are my pride and joy, tireless nights and all. I have never felt such tremendous love.

I’m surprised at all the childfree people posting on a general parenting forum.

That's great! I love seeing parental love and pride. It's the martyrdom that gets an eye roll.

I can only imagine your bemusement at the student loan crisis.

I wish I could board my kids for a few days or hire a neighbor to come and walk them a couple times a day while we go to Europe. Unfortunately, the answer for us is we just can't go to Europe unless we bring the kids.

This is not unique to having kids…? Pets are expensive to board, yes, either you have kids or not.

And you can absolutely hire a sitter for your kids and go to Europe if you want to. No one is stopping you.

No one was questioning your love, pp was questioning your seeming lack of knowledge about how exhausting childrearing would be pre-children.

You might have gotten some sympathy if you had just said you are tired to be woken up multple times per night, but it's the unwarranted dig at childfree people that has earned you the snark.

How many do you have, 2 or 3? If someone with 4 or 5 kids posts they are annoyed when people with only 2 or 3 kids complain about being tired, they would deserve and get the same snark.

A new 22 year old hire was just complaining to me in the breakroom about how tired she was. I rolled my eyes to myself and made a lame joke about having a case of the Mondays.

- Parent of a toddler who is never not tired but also never complains to co-workers about it.

I get more annoyed when my retired mother tells me she’s too busy to do something.

LOL so many meanspirited people out today!

Yes you can get annoyed and simultaneously acknowledge that you chose to have children.

I'm sure at one point I was a young buck complaining about being tired and a parent rolled their eyes at me and it will happen again when my kids are young. It will be like this until the end of time.

I have 3. That is why I haven’t slept well in a decade.

I don't like complainers or whiners in general---whether they have kids or not.
