A friend of mine, who was raised in a very conservative and restrictive household, recently married at the age of 39. She met her husband on an online Christian website and they married within a year of meeting. This was considered very daring in her family and church circles. But they seem very compatible and in love, with shared values. He lived a state away, so they would have never met otherwise.
My brother married at 40 to a woman who was 38. Neither had been married before. They had dated for a year or so. They've always been cagey about how they met, but I'm assuming it was online or at a bar.
