If you could live anywhere in the US...

They're livid that people would rather live there even though DeSantis is Governor, so they come here to spread lies. Florida has lots of real greenery - not astroturf. There are areas with lots of fun stuff to do and access to cultural events. Walkable with views of lakes and greenery the whole year. You can get a really nice 1 BR apartment for $1,800 or spend even less.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

DP... I hate FL because of the swampy weather. What's the point of living in a walkable town if you don't want to walk anywhere because you will start sweating the second you step out of the house, and get bitten by a gazillion mosquitos? Sounds like hell to me.

LOL. That's why I hate New Orleans. I am okay with Florida as long as you stay right on the beach. The sea breeze is great. More than a block or two in, though? Forget about it!

Vermont is green for a few months, then turns white and only walkable for bears/moose.

You forgot brown for mud season and private leach fields.

OMG, I saw that same thing online. It was $1900 a month and looked filthy.

+1 Lots of lush, tropical foliage. Pick a neighborhood in Orlando or Winter Park that's walkable to stuff to do and you can walk and hang out outdoors year-round. Downtown Orlando, Thornton Park, Delaney Park, near Park Ave in Winter Park, Winter Park Village in Winter Park, etc. OP, is there anything you want besides walkable and some greenery?

What about all the RoundUp sprayed everywhere?

I'd be looking at college towns -- maybe someplace like Madison or Ann Arbor if you don't mind cold.

I'd tell you but then a bunch of striving, rude, competitive, stressed out DCUMs and Dads would move there and eff it all up. They need to stay walled off in NOVA and Bethesda where they can continue to practice their micro and macro aggressions.

Which is why Florida is so awesome. They HATE that state, so they won’t go there.

Traffic in Atlanta is AWFUL.

PP here. I live in the Atlanta area. I'm not driving around on the interstates. If you live in one of the suburban areas, there are beautiful walking trails, lots of trees, very green and very friendly neighbors.
