I was the weird, loner kid and now my kid is too. Talk me through this.

My wife and I are both introverts. We've been managing not turning our DD into an introvert by really pushing ourselves to make parent friends, and encouraging playdates, and making time for the playdates, and not saying no even though it PAINS us to spend so much time around others. It has paid off in spades, and our somewhat extroverted daughter is thriving. We also have to check ourselves that everytime someone doesn't interact with her, or she is quiet and doesn't say bye to people we know are her buddies, it is just a blip for that day (i.e. we have to not project our own "stuff" onto her, and give her a lot of space to be her).
