That's not true at all - they need to be inspected every year like every other vehicle. They do not need emissions inspections however. |
Not true. At least on the Y and 3, there is no permanent place for a plate but the car comes with a front holder that uses incredibly strong double sided tape to adhere the plate holder to the car. |
Then why does anyone care? |
D.C. vehicle inspections only check emissions, not safety. So electric cars have non-expiring inspection stickers here. |
You’re welcome to keep laughing while I drive around in my car without a front not giving a sh*t what other people think! |
| Seems like a dumb way to invite trouble with the law. Maybe I don’t drive luxury cars but I also don’t like to give police reasons to pull me over. |
Your car not having a front seems dangerous and might render it un-roadworthy. Proceed with caution. |
Good for you. It takes a strong person to not care that he comes off as a pretentious d-bag. And while I'm only an internet stranger, I'm sure it's apparent to those you know in real life as well. I applaud your self-confidence. |
| At least in my neighborhood, Teslas are the new BMW when it comes to entitled driving behavior. I wouldn't expect license plate usage to be any different. |
Yeah, you are good in DC but in VA you need the inspection. |
People already think BMW drivers are douchebags so I’m keeping up with their expectations! Haha! |
Yes, you sure are. |
Sometimes stereotypes exist for a reason. We thank you for your service in confirming this one. |
I’ve owned different sports cars for 20+ years and have never put one on any of my cars in MD and VA. What am I supposed to do, ruin the front end of the car? I’ve only been cited twice during that span and the fees have been nominal so it’s worth the risk to me to not use a front plate. |
Which cars are so precious that you can’t put on a license plate?
