Can you help me fill in this chart on masks and schools?

I like mocking people who don’t follow science, flat earthers, climate deniers, etc so enjoy every time the topic pops up. Shameful that it’s educators this time.

I’m not the OP but since inspired is providing as partial justification for the mask requirement that “all the other charter schools are doing it” it is helpful to know whether that is accurate information.

PP, we are also at Inspired and I was really frustrated that that was a reason for masking. Not science, not CDC recs or even DC positivity rates, but that others are also doing it. Hope it changes soon but I am not holding my breath. My youngest just insisted on wearing her mask out yesterday for the first time in a long time bc she was afraid of covid and I am not ok with her feeling that way. We had a talk about science and recommendations and what has changed since the pandemic began etc., but school shouldn't be putting these fears in her head and I can only assume that's where it came from.

KIPP DC optional

I like that they have a very transparent and public statement of current regulations: https://www.kippdc.org/healthy-operations/

ITDS just sent out a vague email saying to stay tuned Friday for updated COVID guidelines. Not sure why they sent a heads up like that? Any predictions?

To stop parents from emailing them incessantly until Friday? They are probably dropping masks for the coming Monday. I am guessing of all the schools listed with masks, ITDS parents are the loudest when not happy?

“Other charter schools are doing it” is the only justification for a policy so far outside the educational/best practices mainstream, so it’s worth tracking.

You anti maskers need a better hobby. It’s just a mask. Calm down.
