Are you rich? What’s your favorite gift basket?

Stonewall Kitchen stuff is common. I've gotten 2 Wolferman's baskets and they were horrible. I'd rank Harry & David above it.

All of the gift baskets are over priced and of dubious quality. Costco has gift baskets. I'd at least go thru them because all of them are a waste of resources.

Not rich but Ladurée macarons are out of this world. Especially the Marie Antoinette flavor:

I'm so confused by this response.

Harry and David's specializes in....fruit. With add-ons of cheeses and meats.

And Jeni's is both pre-packaged and processed, by definition.

I'm rich. I don't want a gift basket. I don't want stuff. Everything I want I can and do get for myself. Frankly, I'd love a card, some flowers and a donation to a homeless shelter, or food pantry, dog rescue - something to keep the good going and pay the good forward.

I'm curious why? We love to both give and receive edible arrangement baskets.

They have a ton of preservatives in them.

Not true at all!

You just made that up out of thin air! Why would someone post a verifiable lie like this? Are you trying to launch your own competing brand or something?

There is someone who always posts that Edible Arrangements is “full of preservatives” and never backs up the statement.

I'm not the "full of preservatives" person, but I have found that they seem to use some sort of sugary syrup on the fruit. It's sticky and a little weird. Not sure if it's for preservation or shininess or what, but it's definitely there (my aunt used to send these to us regularly).

Re: H&D, some of the baskets include caramel corn, cookies, stuff like that. I quite like their fruit but the quality of the cheese/meats is not great. I don't know anyone who'd look down their nose at getting a lovely basket of pears.

That’s because you probably don’t know much about Jenis. They use local farms, most of which are grass fed and/or organic. Obviously you have to pre-package and freeze ice cream! But the ingredients are minimally processed with no chemical extras/preservatives like the Harry and David blocks of cheese that could survive an atomic bomb.

A bundle of cookies from Jacques Torres is my go-to gift. A very wealthy friend from NY sent them to me when I had a baby and they were amazing.

Funny thing, I actually looked up Jeni's nutritional information before I posted.

First, you are mixing two very different things. The fact that the dairy comes from local farms has nothing to do with whether the ice cream is "pre-packaged and processed." Both can be true.
Second, take a look at their ingredient list. You'll see tons of Thiamin Mononitrate, Riboflavin, Soy Lecithin, Sodium Bicarbonate, Sunflower Lecithin, Annatto (Color)], Maltodextrin, Carnauba Wax, Cellulose Gum, dextrose. So what exactly do you mean by "processed"? What is your definition, if Jeni's does not meet it?
Third, the ingredient list for H&D's sharp cheddar cheese is: Pasteurized milk, cheese cultures, salt, enzymes. The ingredient list for their gouda is: cultured pasteurized milk, salt, enzymes, annatto color. If that meets your definition of "processed" what doesn't?

I suspect that the marketing strategy to make consumers feel somehow more "virtuous" eating Jeni products worked very well on you.

A gift box from the local company, olio2go.com. Great Italian specialties.
