Do you have mandatory testing at your job?

Do you have mandatory testing for employees at the grocery store? Mandatory testing to enter a restaurant?

No. So there is no justification for mandatory testing in schools.

Yes, we do have mandatory testing at my job. The result is that there is no spread there.

Mine, too. A few isolated cases over the last 2 years, but no spread within the facility. We also require masks unless you’re in an office alone with the door shut, plus vaccinations and boosters, and reduced density in the office where possible. People may be getting it outside the office, but we’ve never had more than one active case at any given time.

My office does not require masks, testing or vaccines. And we rarely have a case. Yes, people are getting and spreading it at social events not work and school.

It’s too difficult to enforce.

Mask optional is the best you can hope for.

I know teachers that want masks banned.

Which ones? I don't know a single teacher who wants a mask ban and I work for mcps in an elementary school. Enforcing a mask mandate got old really fast but I would never ever want to work in a school system with a mask ban. I would quit

This reasoning is so stupid. You can get covid from school, work or social events. There isn't some magical halo that protects school from being a site of infection

For the 5 billionth time, vaccines and boosters do NOT prevent the spread of Covid.

But I was told by the PhDs that stalk the BOE meetings, "Schools are islands of safety!" (I'm not advocating for closures by any means. It's just laughable that they actually used this idea to try and persuade the community to agree with them.)

Didn’t say they did, just that my office requires them as part of the overall Covid strategy.

I think it is unlikely but there is not a non-zero probability of it happening. This is Montgomery County after all. Rockville just mandated masks for indoor activities at their summer camps starting next week.

Zero. The BOE disgusts me---especially Silvestre. PUlled my kids out of MCPS after thehy voted to take away the mask mandate

I suppose if it happens, I think she wears clothes mask is better than nothing, right? Should i stock more cloth mask just in case? Or everyone buy kuds n95 or disposable masks now? She has official allergy, and I have given a copy to her school nurse 1 year ago.

Does kid need a updated allergy diagnosis for new school year to prevent sending home due to sneezing, coughing & runny nose. It was a nightmare a year ago, and they told me that she needed to be tested for covid due to covid symptoms. It was not until I got her an all season allergy diagnosis from a specialist to explain to them why she has symptoms all seasons on and off.

We can always hope the grown-ups will take charge and stop the rest from pandering to the MAGA set.

Republicans are apparently going to dominate in MoCo this Fall based on what I see in public then. Historic landslide type results…

Whatever you were intending to convey with this didn’t come through. Obviously you are wrong that Moco will suddenly be dominated by republicans. Whatever else you meant was lost.

It's the overly entitled Blue MoCo ers (aka Whyt ppl)

PP above is equating lack of mask use with MAGA. Take a look around MoCo. If that's the case, then MoCo is overwhelmingly flooded with Republicans. But it's not because it's not a political issue any more. The MAGA crap is a relic from 2020.

Well, it is if you actually like your kids. But that's your issue.

Mine doesn't either but there's been non-stop spread. It's really out of control.

Moco may not be but so many of the posters on this board sure are...

Every teacher I know is for a mandate.
