Chances of mask mandate in school in the fall ?

I suppose if it happens, I think she wears clothes mask is better than nothing, right? Should i stock more cloth mask just in case? Or everyone buy kuds n95 or disposable masks now? She has official allergy, and I have given a copy to her school nurse 1 year ago.

Does kid need a updated allergy diagnosis for new school year to prevent sending home due to sneezing, coughing & runny nose. It was a nightmare a year ago, and they told me that she needed to be tested for covid due to covid symptoms. It was not until I got her an all season allergy diagnosis from a specialist to explain to them why she has symptoms all seasons on and off.

We can always hope the grown-ups will take charge and stop the rest from pandering to the MAGA set.

The grown-ups are the ones behaving badly and the ultra liberals are handling covid as poorly as the MAGA set.. but at least its one thing they have in common.

Republicans are apparently going to dominate in MoCo this Fall based on what I see in public then. Historic landslide type results…

Chances are good as mask mandates are already coming back in multiple jurisdictions.

But don't worry, the bus driver won't show up so your kid will be home anyway.

LOL, this totally made me laugh (unfortunately). My kid’s MS bus didn’t show up multiple times last school year. We gave up and just driver her, but I bet this year will be even worse with bus driver shortages.

Whatever you were intending to convey with this didn’t come through. Obviously you are wrong that Moco will suddenly be dominated by republicans. Whatever else you meant was lost.

Oh yes, so many are secretly down with the anti-women pro-gun stances.

I would say there is a chance. Our 5th class had to mask up the last few weeks of school last year. They cited the Montgomery County Health Department as the decider. MCPS will push blame/decisions on MCHD.

So while I hope there are 0 masks, I would not say there is a 0 chance in the fall.

As I said in a related thread, there are people advocating for a return to mask mandates in schools right now. If you don’t want them, please speak up and let the BOE and superintendent know. Please.

Zero. My kids have been in summer school since the beginning of July and Covid has not been an issue. Some are masked, some are not and its been fine. A couple cases of Covid here and there and no big deal. Its been just like the end of last year, but with less masks since I think so many people have had it by now.

PP above is equating lack of mask use with MAGA. Take a look around MoCo. If that's the case, then MoCo is overwhelmingly flooded with Republicans. But it's not because it's not a political issue any more. The MAGA crap is a relic from 2020.

Was this school/class in MCPS? Was it the entire school? Or just 1 grade? Or just 1 class in the school? MCPS had a "masks are optional" policy beginning in March/April. A couple of BOE members removed their masks immediately in the meeting when it was adopted. I can't see how anyone would be required to wear masks, per the policy.

There was a policy that if there was too much spread in a classroom, masks were required for a few days just for that class. I don’t remember the details.
