I don’t know how Emme is pronounced. I like Ivy. I also love Elodie which is suggested above, and would add Iris. |
Daisy! |
I find Emmeline a little fussy and prefer Ivy. |
I think Emme-LINE is a choice. Not one everyone would make, but fine.
Emme-LEAN is not appealing on many levels. It's not just that it sounds like Emily. People will think it's Emme-LINE. And the name itself sounds less nice than Emme-LINE. (IMO the mm sound followed by long e is not a nice sound) So it's like, oh I was confused by your name, now I get it, no wait, it's actually a way worse pronunciation than I assumed. I don't think this works in the US. |
Sorry- is it:
Emma-line Emma-lean Emm-e-line Emm-e-lean I'm very confused. I would have said it's "Emma-line" and I know a dog with that name. I like it a lot, but haven't heard the other pronunciations. Someone is saying it doesn't work in the US. What country is it from? It's a southern name in my mind. |
The OP is asking about Emme-LEAN. That is her intention. A name ending in -line definitely evokes a Southern quality. I am the PP who mentioned not in the US. I was thinking the name might work in France. |
Both are beautiful - pick what you like best.
I have an Ivy! Feminine with a little edge and simple. |
Neither, but that's me. Not my baby! |
As far as I know, "Emme" is pronounced just like the letter, M. But who knows. "Emme" is not a phonetic spelling. |
So Emme - LEAN is a two syllable name like Emlean? Wouldn’t Em be the obvious spelling if you’re trying to spell it phonetically? |
Ivy, unless you don't mind her being Emmie number 780,072,710 |
