Elevated liver enzymes

That’s it. I’m asking for a scan and to see if I have any gallstones. My sister did and almost died from pancreatitis.

Doctors first want to blame drinking when there are many other reasons they could be elevated.

Does anyone know what the symptoms are for gallstones?

I did some reading and a lot of it implies that eating too much fruit is actually bad since it is too much fructose for the liver to take on, and it makes it into the fat cells. Why on Earth then we are told to eat tons of fruit, if fructose is bad? I took to eating grapes by pound during pandemic, but I thought since they were red/organic, they were good for me. And now fatty liver and there is no cure. If enzymes don,t go down, that means inflammation, then fibrosis, then chirrosis. I watched all those videos on Youtube and I guess I am panicking, but honestly fatty liver was one thing I thought I would not get.

Np: all the legit sites seem to say that eating plain fruit is good and that it's the fructose in processed food that is the issue.

...but I did not eat any processed food as stated before. I am religious about that and this is what makes it even more frustrating. I think those websites should specify amounts. I could eat 2 pds of red grapes in one day, as a snack. That is on top of other things.
I can't think of anything else except, wait, I was kind of abusing Tazo herbal teas, maybe this is what did it for me. Maybe they are toxic when you have 5-7 cups a day, and caused enlarged liver.

Gallstones do not cause a lot of symptoms, most of time, but sometimes you have this gnawing pain on your right side, kind of dull pain that may come on after eating a fatty meal. They are easily identified on abdomen ultrasound, just get it, PP.

I just had a physical last week and found out my liver enzymes are somewhat elevated. My doctor wants me to repeat the bloodwork in a month. I’m a 52 year old female, pudgy but not obese, I exercise daily, eat well, and rarely drink alcohol. I did have a few drinks while on vacation the week before my appointment, but I would have thought any alcohol would have been out of my system by the time of my bloodwork. I didn’t consume an excessive amount.

I had a colonoscopy a few weeks prior, but I don’t think that would have influenced the results. Or would it? I just hope that my numbers will be normal when I test again.

...maybe working from home and sitting a lot during pandemic did it to us? Looks like a pandemic of fatty livers/elevated enzymes is coming, that is scary. Also, seems like females after 50 are mostly affected....

Could be hepatitis.

Could be caused by supplements or vitamins you take.

Could be caused by taking statins.

The 2 drinks a day could contribute as well. Just as an fyi. Take a few days off a week to rest liver.

Yeah, a serving of grapes is 1/2 cup, so 2lbs is a lot. I agree that nutrition advice is often vague and sometimes contradictory. I've mostly seen suggestions of 1-3 servings of fruit per day.

PP, who told me not to have 2 drinks a day, that's really funny because I am a tea-totaller. Also, no supplements or statins. Except like I said Tazo chamomile - I guess that would be a supplement. It was I think OP who was guilty of 2 drinks a day.
PP, no, it is not easily fixed and in fact non-alcoholic fatty liver is often irreversible.
