California "accidentally" releases list of CCP holders

Basically. They just released a list of people that are armed.

Criminals casing houses now have a list of spots to avoid. Any residence not on the list now has a bright green sign above it that says “best odds— come on in!”

DP. This is kind of a dumb take. You can own a gun without having a CCP, so not being on this list in no way means there are no guns in your home.

This thread is full of dumb takes.
SCOTUS endangered everyone’s privacy this last week. META endangered it before that.
This is our world.

Calm down! It was a release of public information, dear, no one is hunting them down.

I’m in California as I type and no one is talking about this or cares about it.

Precisely. No one is hunting down illegal gun owners, just the legal ones.

Why do they think this should be private information?? I am morally opposed to guns & even more concealed ones. Let the information go up on billboards for all I care.

I predict a surge in “illegal” gun ownership in blue states.

Most Americans don’t care to become victims of identity theft.

Au contraire. Domestic abuse victims are more likely to find their abusive partners on this list and can flag their name for law enforcement than the scenario you are suggesting.

Red flag laws make gun owners frothing mad because they know a lot of gun owners are loose cannons to begin with. The people drawn to obsessing about firearms already have a couple loose screws.

If someone has a domestic abuse conviction they can’t be on this list.

Why would criminals report their guns to authorities?
They don’t.

Of course they don't.
The government seems to want to know only about legal gun owners.

Jesus, that is such parroted nonsense. Tiresome and boring as the idiots who continue to squawk it.

I live in Los Angeles and you’ll have to trust me that no one here cares. Not even the CCP holders. This is Fox crap.
