Why are conservatives creepy? OH legislature votes to require genital inspections for kids’ sports

Anonymous
Sex is a very normal and natural drive. Indeed, necessary for the human race to survive. There is nothing inherently perverse or wrong with a normal sex drive starting in puberty. It’s healthy.

But, Cons tell their kids sexual urges are dirty and must be repressed, or God will smite them. While Dems focus on safe sex, consent, being emotionally ready, sex being part of a healthy relationship. They push for sex education and for students to learn about safe sex, consensual sex, etc.

When you teach kids that sex is dirty and forbidden, sexual urges don’t go away. Our survival as a species depends on that. They just become forbidden, perverted, secretive, shameful and abusive.

Presenting sex as an urge to be pushed down and ignored if you love the Lord doesn’t work very well for very long. Never has. Never will.

— lapsed Catholic.

Meanwhile, cons are teaching kids that abstaining— pushing down normal, natural biological urges, in some cases not even masterbating, is what god requires.

I’m more convinced than ever that to ascend to the highest elite of the GOP you need to have abused children. I’m almost certain the party effectively functions as a pedo blackmail ring. They abducted all those migrant kids and “lost” them. Then look at all the child molestation scandals in the GOP. Denny Hastert was 3rd in line to the Presidency.

A few years ago I would have thought you were crazy. I’m not convinced that you need to have abused children, but I’ve come to suspect that it’s definitely a feature of the upper echelons of the GOP. You have three very good examples - plus the reason for this thread - and don’t forget the whole Q/Comet Ping Pong thing. Every Republican accusation is a confession.

Exactly.

There are 5 trans athletes in OH HS sports. Under this bill, which has a TX abortion style enforcement mechanism— anyone- parent, coach, looky-Lu trouble maker can request sex verification. Of tens of thousands of girls, because of 5 athletes. If some nasty parent on an opposing team questioned your 14 year old’s gender, would you take her for the exam— which by law requires digital penetration while pushing down on her pelvis to confirm internal sex organs? Because I would not.

Remember tranvaginal ultrasounds? And that was adult, or at least sexually active women.

Just as interesting, there is no suggestion we should be diddling with teenage boys’ peenises before they can play football.

Disgusting.

Exactly.

I’m the PP you’re replying to and I forgot: Jeffrey Epstein. Not only was he friends with Trump (and Epstein used to hunt for victims at Mar a Lago), but Alex Acosta is the one who let Epstein off and then Epstein was given a cushy Trump administration job. Moreover, Epstein seemed to have been poised to name names finally and he was killed in shady circumstances (both guards fell asleep for approximately three hours and both the cameras outside his cell malfunctioned that night) while Barr (whose father gave Epstein a job at the Dalton School he ran) was in charge of the DOJ.

There is something seriously, seriously wrong in the GOP.

What about female teens (gender and sex) who play on boys' HS teams? When I was in HS both my football and wrestling teams had biological girls on them because those sports were not offered to girls and there were a few girls who wanted to play.

Did they use the same locker room or were they given a separate changing area? Do you consider that an important consideration? Did their families and the families of the other players?

They changed in the girls' locked room, which exists at every HS.

But under this OH law, conceivably they could be subject to a physical exam of their genitalia.

I am not defending this law but I think that male athletes and female athletes and trans athletes deserve protection, including their own locker rooms. For everyone's protection.

When you were in school, the schools and families understood that and made sure that it happened. We should do no less.

When I was in school, there was zero awareness of trans kids. My Southern conservative school had a no kids who were out and gay— although several of my friends have since come out as gay. I feel terrible, because they were my friends, and that would not have changed. I wish they had felt they could open up to me. But I understand the silence. This was circa Matthew Shepard.

Now we are doing the same damn thing to trans kids.

There are lots of trans kids. They should get their own transboy and transgirl changing rooms. Shouldn't they?

That’s above my pay grade. But looking at how much my DD hated changing for gym because she was a later bloomer, I think the time has come for rows of individual changing rooms. Lots of reasons many kids are too modest to change in front of their peers.

I’ll also point out that many, many colleges already have single sex bathrooms. It bothered me at first. My kids were fine.

Maybe it’s time to get past 1950. Let kids get PE credit for sports, and give the kids who remain the option to Fitbit, which worked well for my summer PE kid. The goal of PE by HS should be lifelong fitness. Which is more likely if a kid gets to choose their exercise 2x a week. A year of classroom health and drivers Ed and give them an elective unless they chose to take traditional PE. Kids who remain can have individual changing rooms.

Four problems solved: (1) kids are not forced to play a sport they hate; (2) kids who are uncomfortable dressing out in public because they are obese, anorexic, too developed, not developed, etc can have privacy; (3) trans kids are accommodated; (4) less concern about kid sneaking cell phones into lockers rooms and filming. It happened at my kids school.

I hesitate to say this because I don’t want anyone to misconstrue my comment as support for this bill, but from what I could find online (weird that the actual bill isn’t quoted in this thread at all) it appears that the text of the bill states that if the sex of an athlete is questioned, there are 3 ways the athlete can prove their sex, and one of them is with a note from a doctor, stating their sex based on external observations. Your sex would be part of your medical records, so your doctor should be able to write such a note without having to perform any new exams.

This bill is problematic, but it doesn’t suggest that anyone other than one’s doctor should be examining one’s genitalia.

You are wrong. The bill requires an internal gyn. exam. On a child who may not have even entered puberty (my very thin daughter did menstrate because she is so thin. She is defiantly female— in sex, in gender. But she was too thin to make estrogen (below 5% BMI) and that would not have been an option. And how many parents can afford to do a full genetic sequence on their kid?

Read and learn what they are doing to women at a time when eating disorders and other body image issues are rampant.

I’ll take the 5 trans athletes, thanks.

Would you mind citing the passage that you think makes an internal gynecological exam is required? It doesn’t read that way to me.

#1. Examination of a participant’s INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL reproductive anatomy.

The word “examination” isn’t used. It’s “ The participant’s internal and external reproductive anatomy.” I don’t believe a pelvic exam is required. You just get your pediatrician to sign a note stating which kind of anatomy your kid has. Should others be able to force you to do that? No, of course not. A birth certificate should suffice. However, I don’t believe pediatricians are going to perform pelvic exams due to this bill.

Which part? Internal exams on young teen girls? Or giving equivalent exams to boys? Why should boys be exempt from this little charade if it’s NBD for the child?

How does a physician verify a girl’s internal reproductive anatomy- which is required— without an exam? I’d love to know before my next GYn visit.

Yes. Sex is still on birth certificates. Trans people can petition to have that changed, but that wouldn’t be the original birth certificate. Gender is a social construct. A baby doesn’t know what gender it will ID with in 10 years.

Why. Cons want to digitally rape girls. It’s in the bill. The natural correlate is internal and external examination of male genitalia if their sex is in. Doubt.

I’m sorry that hold trans men and trans women to the exact same standard to play sports is “creepy”.

BTW— it’s creepy no one should be examining the genitals of boys or girls. But, the home state of Gym Jordan is laser focused on girls vaginas.

This is creepy. I support biological female only sports but this is too far. Just use the sex on the original birth certificate to determine who plays where.

Playing a sport is not a right.
