Prob a recent gift for turning 16 or a grad gift. Sick.

Seniors aren’t at school this week. It was more likely a junior leaving school.

Oakton High School had a scheduled early release day today:

This is heartbreaking for everyone involved.

If anyone here is part of the community, please post information in the next few days on how we can help (meals for the families, GoFundMe page, etc.). We need to help the families and community.

Blake lane has a 35 MPH speed limit but people regularly go 50 to 55 MPH. I was ticketed going 50 on Blake without even trying. I betting it was the rain and the BMW hydroplaned after the afternoon storm. Sad news for the kids. Oakton HS is my base school.

It happened at 11:45 well before the rain.

and reports indicate the BMW was going near 100 mph. This was an idiot kid, with way too powerful of a car.

Some teen doing 100 mph in a BMW? I’m sorry he should be tried as an adult.

If the accident reconstruction determines that this BMW was indeed being driven somewhere remotely near that speed the driver should be subjected to prosecution for the maximum penalty...and then he should be personally sued and let him/her sort it out with the loser friends who may have been those loser type friends who goad on the driver to show them what the car can really do. My anger wants even the parents who bought this car for their clearly dimwit and irresponsible kid to pay some price that would satisfy our rage but still be acceptable in a civilized society. Every parent of a HS student must be feeling this loss and we all realize that it could have been easily our own kid who suffered this senseless tragic end.

The kid is either 16 or 17, so he should be tired as an adult, but I’m pretty sure they will get away from it if his rich
