WTF and they are in other areas already.

Perly's in Richmond. Outside the DVM but I wish there were one closer.

My brother lives in San Francisco and he had never heard of it.

The best Peruvian restaurant I’ve ever been to was in San Francisco. It wasn’t a chicken chain though, true.

Medium Rare is a good one. It's going to sound crazy but where I grew up in Texas there's nothing like Chop't or Sweetgreen (I know they're in NYC, etc, but the parts of the country that could REALLY BENEFIT from a fast-food salad chain don't have them). Other than that, maybe Rehobot?

I honestly haven’t eaten anything here where I’d kill to see it somewhere else. I was excited about District Taco the first few times I had it, but it’s just ok. There are more exciting and interesting Taco places, even here.

I lived in Houston for 2 years. Lupe Tortilla would make me very happy!

I live 45 minutes west of Leesburg. I would love a Moby Dick, Anita’s, and a Bonchon out this way.

What you like may not be what I like. Didn't realize they expanded beyond the 3 states.

Agree with Teaism, though part of the charm is that it's local

One place I miss that didn't survive is Bread and Brew that was in Dupont. Just simple healthy salads and sandwiches. And longer standing was CF Folks. Miss their lunch specials so much!

Totally agree! There is nothing unique about DC food. Most cities have better food than DC. I grew up in Cincy and the food is even better there.

This is a good one! Also, related but different: pupusas. Hard to find a good pupusa outside the dmv.

NYC begs to differ with both of these.

Where in NYC does one get good pupusas? I live there now and have been looking for a place comparable to the ones here.

Pupuas Ridgewood, La Cabana Salvadorena

OMG no. Their tacos are flavorless and awful.

+1. No one benefits from more district taco.

I see a big difference between winter and summer at District Taco. They seem to use fresh produce etc and everything tastes better. With that said, I still prefer Taco Bambo (but also know that DC taco joints aren’t good enough to export).

There really aren’t Peruvian chicken places elsewhere? I didn’t realize that.

Big Greek Cafe is decent. Moby Dick is meh, IMO. Cava used to be better. We have delicious Ethiopian options but I can’t name chains. Sushi Jin is great but one can find good sushi outside of DC.

I’ve lived in DC for 15 years and have rarely been blown away by the food, which is kind of sad because I’m from flyover country.

Woodlands in Fairfax no longer exists? I’ve been out of the country for a while but I’ll be back in a few weeks and this makes me want to cry.

It's still there! I ate there last week. The one in Langley closed

The Langley Park Woodlands has reopened in Gaithersburg
