I feel so sorry for all of you. Philly and NYC have much much better food thank you...and you don't even realize how bad DMV food is.

Oh, please. DC is hardly the cosmopolitan center of the US.

I’d say Woodlands but sadly it no longer exists.

Big Greek Cafe is decent. Moby Dick is meh, IMO. Cava used to be better. We have delicious Ethiopian options but I can’t name chains. Sushi Jin is great but one can find good sushi outside of DC.

I’ve lived in DC for 15 years and have rarely been blown away by the food, which is kind of sad because I’m from flyover country.

I moved away 10 years ago & I miss the downtown lunch spots like Teaism.

My city’s lunch scene is all fast food or fast casual chains.

I heard all the hype about Moby Dick and finally tried it a couple years ago. I didn’t think it was that great. It wasn’t bad, but definitely didn’t knock my socks off.

+1. I don’t get the hype.

It isn’t good. If you want good kabobs, try Kabob Palace.

You need to go to places where South Indians live or go to. Philadelphia for example has some good idol places.

Ummmm, then you haven been to about a dozen cities in California or Houston.

Not quite what you asked, but, one of my favorite restaurants was ShopHouse. I would resurrect ShopHouse throughout the DC area and expand it thoughtfully.

I completely agree. So bland. Every once in a while I’ll try it again and am always disappointed.

My brother lives in San Francisco and he had never heard of it.

He’s just out of touch then. Limon was where I first had Peruvian chicken in SF.
