Do you plan your own Mother's Day?

my husband bought flowers and a ring that I’ll get tomorrow and made reservations for early dinner at a restaurant I like, and he had the kids get cards. I don’t think it is expecting too much that your husband would appreciate you on Mother’s Day! I hope every Mom out there get the appreciation she deserves. It’s a tough job!

Thank you for saying this. Some of us do care. I don’t except a ticker tape parade but FFS can my husband pick up breakfast or even have coffee waiting? We’ve been married almost fifteen years and I’m tired of the excuses. I do everything in this house and it would be nice if just once DH could show appreciation.

I took off for a 3-day beach vacation alone. Try it! If you can't get away for mothers day, do it another time of the year! I guarantee your kids and husband will be fine. You'll be way happier than getting flowers, chocolate, and brunch!

This is a stupid comment. Sounds like she would like some recognition/appreciation for what she does. It’s one day — even a poor planner can take someone out to lunch. Don’t be a callous jerk.
