my son recently got dumped by his GF. What would you say to him?

Tell him to start watching podcasts for men (fresh&fit, Joker, etc.). Also, I never did understand shallow people, because I do not care how much someone makes, if I like them. They could be flat broke and I wouldn't care.

Forget the reasons why he was dumped. Don't give advice. Don't trash her. Be available and kind.

The one thing I have said to my adult son during times of personal crisis is that one day he will be on the other side of (whatever the crisis is).

best way to get over someone is to get under someone new

miss one, next fifteen coming (like a bus)

It’s likely, she didn’t dump him over money. It could be just what she told him. Or it could be what he’s telling you, as his over sympathetic mother. He’s could have been told the real reason and is just telling you what would make your blood boil.

This is life. For whatever the reason, they are just not a good fit. 2 years at that age is nothing. Just be Glad they found out before marriage or having a child together. It could be views as mature that they broke up.

+1. Much better not to waste anyone’s time. I have never dumped someone for money and don’t know anyone else who has. Other reasons: bad sex, lack of ambition, addiction (alcohol, video games), enmeshment with parents, loss of physical attraction, depressed personality, immaturity, etc.
