Only .4% students tested positive after spring break.

A few coughs and sneezes were spreading through my room but nobody only 3 kids actually took the test. I only wore a mask when in guided reading groups stupidly. Now, I have covid and I am willing to bet these sneeze and coughing children do too. I do not care if I have covid. People get sick. I get it. But, I hate having to be absent for a week and I hate possibly exposing my SMACS kid to covid as she has an intense academic schedule to adhere to. It is what it is.

Feel better soon. I know multiple people right now either with colds or Covid. No one is immune.

My three kids have been in school, my two older kids spring break, keg parties, working in malls and childcare.

Look I am vaxed and all five of us booster shots. Heck I stayed at hotels in 2020. Went to weddings in 2021.

Is it even real? Let’s move on. Like bell bottom jeans and lava lamps this is over.

I know dozens of people who've had COVID and a handful who died.

Thanks for your meaningless personal anecdote, though. And no, it's not over. It's not up to you.

First day of spring break, my daughter had lunch with her friends, one of who reported the next morning that she tested positive for COVID. Two days later, my daughter started symptoms. Negative tests that first day and the next morning, positive that night. She feels awful, like the flu. I’m not sure how this would even get reported - we’ll tell the school of course. But are cases like this one reflected in the official stats?

If parents report it, its supposed to be put in the case count.

Sorry I meant to say first day BACK from spring break. I guess another point is that the numbers positive Reported in that last day of spring break don’t take into account cases like my daughters or even cases like her friend, who had symptoms but didn’t test positive until Wednesday.

It is over. Heck, we don't even wear masks on planes anymore. CDC declared it over and the judge in Florida put the nail in the coffin (no pun intended).

You know the judge in FL decision had absolutely no medical basis right? And it was a departure from other court decisions even the supreme court? And she was rated unqualified fir her position by the ABA?

These were all true after Christmas break too. Relatively speaking, the numbers are still a lot lower.

Yes because Christmas break was during a major spike. Now we are in a lull. This should not be any kind of surprise. We also know the numbers are rising right now.

Strange the numbers I saw in the WaPo last week showed a marked increase over the past 2 weeks.

So you think taking health guidance from a Trump-appointed judge is wse?

It’s much higher in reality. People are just testing at
Home and not reporting it. This isn’t rocket science.

You've got Fauci and others saying that everyone will get it, so I guess everyone is going to have brain shrinkage.

Perhaps.

We took two full flights (return flight happened once the mask mandate was lifted) and a cruise, and nobody returned with covid.

More that we prefer to learn our science and health “facts” from better sources than NBC News and The Daily Beast.
