There is not any equity for our kids. Many go without their needs being met. Using the term equity for leadership makes no sense. You hire the best person for the job. You don’t hire off race. No one cares a minority is running mcps. We do care that she puts kids needs first. |

Your definitions of "equity" and "minority" makes no sense. Equality means each individual or group of people is given the same resources or opportunities. Equity recognizes that each person has different circumstances and allocates the exact resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome. However, Title I's already receive more resources through funding. If you're saying you want to reduce or eliminate equal access by Whites and Asians to resources (ex. what was done to the Magnet program by making it "lottery" versus "merit"), that eliminates their Equality based upon skin color - which is Racial Discrimination and should be investigated by the Maryland Inspector General as a potential criminal violation? You do realize that AA are barely a minority in Montgomery County. AA's are only a minority in comparison to White-only and no other races. Asians are far more of a minority than AA's or Hispanic/Latino's are by percentage. By your rationale, we should have an Asian, American-Indian, or Pacific Islander as the Superintendent? |

She went to ONE school with a tiny education department. Now, if she went to Towson and tried to show those graduates why MCPS is the place to go over other Maryland jurisdictions, then I might applaud the effort. This was just a photo op. We are so short teachers, especially those in special education. What is she doing about it? |
