Have you ever discovered a post on here that you could just tell was written about you?

See, examples like this are the ones where I think you're probably wrong. Because DCUM is full of people complaining about certain living situations/lifestyles. Whether divorced, happily married, or unhappily married, whether SAHM or working mom or PT mom or WAH mom, whether rich or middle class or struggling. Someone on here will target these groups randomly because this is a judgmental, insecure group.

And I never believe the "writing style" arguments either. You're not a detective. Lots of people sound the same on paper -- most people do not have very unique or identifiable writing styles.

I think you are just paranoid. Your unpleasant coworker might hate you and say nasty things behind your back, but you are almost definitely projecting onto a stranger here.

Unless someone references identifying info or a specific situation, I don't think you can ever assume you know who the writer is. Just saying "ugh, I can't stand professional women who marry well and then quit their jobs to SAHM" is way to broad.

NP. I am serious when I say there’s a couple posters who’ve I’ve 100% identified IRL by name. They post long life stories each time they post. I found some of their Instagram and LinkedIn accounts too.

Ok, I'll say up front I don't believe you. I'm not saying it would be impossible to do this, but if you didn't know the person IRL, the amount of sleuthing it would take would be ridiculous and I still think you'd be apt to get it wrong. Sorry.

I do think you could recognize a post on here about yourself, especially if it was about a specific situation in your life, and that would make it fairly easy to figure out who posted it in many situations. But identifying strangers? Nope, sorry, even the super wordy people who disclose lots of personal details tend to have too many traits that are shared by too many people.

In the college forum it’s basically the same few couple of posters where they work, where they went to school, etc. I am telling you I identified them by name. It matches exactly with the same odd words they use over and over.

No we don't! I am good at internet research and read this forum all the time and I can't imagine doing this. I am not that curious about you people!

I can't remember the last time anyone posted here who seemed interesting enough to research.

I just saw one I'm positive is about me and responded to it. What someone saw while driving down 70.

Not about me (definitely too boring), but I have read several about people I know. Some gave such specific details that I am quite sure. The ones in the soccer forum did not try to hide it.

Several years ago I was having a bad day — just got out of the hospital from hemorrhaging due to a miscarriage and was physically and emotionally struggling to take my 2 year old and SN 4 year old to a gym class. A woman held open the door for us and then flipped out and yelled at me when she didn’t think that we thanked her. I ran into the bathroom and cried. Later that afternoon I noticed that she posted about it here, venting about how rude me and my kids were. I responded but she never replied to me.

No. About sniffing my GF's panties while driving.
