These were the online assignments. But as of tonight there are now almost 30 assignments with grades in the system verses the 4 earlier today. Granted there is still no feedback for the students and no chance to ask questions about what they did well or need help on. But at least there are grades now? There are no grades in canvas either - just in synergy. I just heard from a friend because their kid has 10 missing assignments, but the parent had no idea because they weren’t graded or listed as missing until now. Their kid’s excuse was that the assignments never seem to get graded, so he didn’t think it mattered. I get that teachers are busy teaching, but I think kids deserve feedback as they do the work. Not a whole cascade of grades the last day. This is the first year we have experienced this.

This is ridiculous. Kids this age and their parents shouldn’t suddenly find out there are ten missing assignments without having a chance to submit them. This is BS and I hope your friend complains.

This happened with my child last year and last semester. I think the principal cracked down on this because most teachers have been better this last quarter. I think it's so irresponsible and am surprised the principal at OP's school hasn't been responsive.

This is OP again. I’ve done all these things. The principal blew me off. It’s now the final day for grading and there are still SIXTEEN ungraded assignments.

My kid is showing that the last time a grade was inutted was on 3/1. At some point, the teacher has to upload the grades, right? -DP

Nothing. Still waiting for the grades. She currently has As, but who knows if this will change when all the other grades finally show up.

This. Many assignments are often not graded.

I am perfectly calm and have given up on this. I was asked for an update, so I provided one. These are 100 percent assignments that should have been graded and that are listed in ParentVue. They are lengthy, involved assignments with clear rubric that was circulated when assigned. I’d be very happy if some of the many busy work assignments didn’t count toward the final grade. These aren’t them.

My son's 9th grade English teacher was so behind, the school had some part time helper who was not a teacher or even a writer.

She took points off for so many small things despite the content being very good. We had to ask for it to be graded by the teacher and she added quite a bit back. I was really annoyed some random person was grading - especially since his teacher had seen a draft and said it was good. The person doing the final grade apparently didn't agree but it wasn't fair to him to submit something after getting good feedback. They can't have two people with different feedback grading the same assignments!!!

Agree, but if they made an effort to grade each week they wouldn’t be in that situation.

They are too busy subbing during their planning periods to grade. Complain to those in charge about that situation.
