Thank G-D that Biden did not Kamala the Supreme Court nominee. Brown is smart and strong and much more important than Harris, the promise keeper. |
Well I am that old and do remember. And the answer is no, it did not take the shine off Justice O'Connor. Women, Republicans and Democrats both, and some men too all over America were ecstatic and praised Reagan's decision. Of course white women, who have been the greatest beneficiaries of affirmative action, never deemed it affirmative action when O'Connor was appointed That affirmative action label is only thrown at Blacks and Brown/Black Hispanics. Miss me with your trite bullshit. |
No, I will not miss you, goof. White liberals always want to go around patting themselves on the back for elevating a black person. FOH. Blinded by their own self-congratulatory fog. |
They voted to elevate her to the second highest court less than a year ago. |
I am not insecure at all. I’m saying Biden hurt her credibility while trying to pander and self congratulate. KBJ is more than qualified, and should be the nominee, Biden just did it the wrong way, and that will stick with her forever. It’s insulting, and you give him a pass for it. |
She is more qualified than whoever you voted for would have nominated. |
DP... Just stop it. KBJ's record already speaks for itself. She's an excellent nominee. |
And white, alt-right conservatives pat their asses, backs, and any everything else for elevating incompetent white people such as ACB and Kavanaugh. Blinded by their own hate. |
+1 Wouldn't this pick (and choosing Harris) have had MORE impact if he said he was choosing the best person for the job and then that person turned out to be a black woman. This is a disgusting level of pandering and I'm surprised people are falling for it. By saying "I'm choosing the best black woman" he's saying he's excluding people (who are perhaps more qualified) based on gender and race. It's just bizarre. |
She would’ve been near the top of any Democratic President’s short list no matter whether he or she made that promise or not. |
I’ve never said she was not an excellent nominee, I’ve said the opposite. You’re so blinded trying to "prove" something you can’t even understand the point I’m making. I’ll try again and dumb it down for you. She’s an excellent nominee She deserves the job She will always have an * by her name through no fault of her own. That is 100% on Biden and it’s disgusting he did that to her |
DP. Oh, please. People hire other people for jobs for all kinds of non-objective reasons besides them being "the best person for the job." VPs are routinely chosen based on factors such as geography and assumptions about constituencies they represent. You think Pence was "the best person for the job" in the whole of America? He was chosen because he represented the evangelical vote. You think Brett K and ACB were "the best persons for the job" in all of America? As if.... |
Biden made a promise to his most reliable voter base and he kept it. It may have been what triggered turnout for him, who knows. But she’s brilliant and talented and the right wingers don’t even have half a leg to stand on after the straight unqualified garbage they nominated at all levels over the past term. Just shut down the discussion. There is no asterisk after her name. Anyone who implies that there should be needs to be called to the carpet. |
She will only have an asterisk by her name for racists. Gorsuch*, Kavanaugh** and the handmaiden*** will actually have asterisks next to their name. *stolen seat, political hack, unqualified, nominated by loser of popular vote **seat opened in suspicious circumstances, political hack, unqualified, nominated by loser of popular vote ***nominated and seated by man actively losing an election underway, political hack, unqualified, actual affirmative action hire |
What does that * stand for? I don't understand what you are saying. I don't see any * next to Sandra Day O'Connor's name. If Ketanji Brown Jackson gets one, then surely SDO gets one, too. And what does that mean anyway? All the white men supreme court justices prior to about the 1960s would get one next to their names. Because they were nominated and chosen at a time when only white men were considered eligible to sit on the Supreme Court by all those who held power. You cannot deny that. |
