How did Merrick Garland’s confirmation hearings go? |
How do you figure that seat should have been Garland's? Obama didn't have the senate votes. |
You mean in the olden days when people would cross the aisle to vote for a qualified candidate? No Republican would have voted for Garland? |
+1 He got a 76-23 vote in a Republican-controlled Senate when he was confirmed for the DC Circuit. |
+1. Odd how no one complains that the Gorsuch hearing were uncivilized. |
And certainly not with Gorsuch. |
+1. You nominate a gu who was beat red and yelling “I like beer” at the conformation hearing. What did you expect? |
You don’t know that. Because Mitch refused to allow hearings to occur. For a full year. |
And accused a senator of being an alcoholic, don’t forget that part. |
And angrily talking over female senators in disrespectful matter and credibly accused of sexual assault. Biff-Kav was the height of incivility. |
| Ketanji looked good in her purple suit. |
This. At least your nominees got an up down vote, hon. So spare me. |

Yeah, he is such an embarrassment. During the hearings, I was texting with my brother who is the same age as BK, also went to Catholic high school, also a straight white guy with kids, former Republican (pre-trump), has never lived in or near the Beltway, and he was basically saying “this is not normal, right? Who would act this way at a Senate hearing?” It was a good reality check for me. The only clown in that hearing was the nominee, unfortunately. |
